Kenyatta Stewart †
Kenyatta Stewart joined HHR as a staff attorney in September 2008. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from William Paterson University and a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University Law School. As a native and current resident of Paterson, NJ, Kenyatta is a member of both the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations. During law school, he interned with the Law Office of Fiesta & Ingenito, the Honorable Patricia P. Satterfield of the Queens Supreme Court, the Honorable Ronald Hedges (former District of New Jersey Magistrate Judge), the Narcotics and Investigation Division of the Queens District Attorney’s Office, and the Cochran firm. Kenyatta was also active at Hofstra, participating in the Black Law Students Association, the Hofstra Moot Court Association, and successfully competing in the Frederick Douglas Moot Court competition.
In 2007, Kenyatta began a clerkship with the late Honorable Stephen H. Womack in the Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey, Passaic County. He completed his clerkship under the supervision of the Honorable Rudolph Filko of the Family Division.
Kenyatta Stewart practices various areas of law, including Criminal Defense, Civil Rights, Education, Entertainment, Family, Government, and Labor Law at the state and federal level. Kenyatta has represented clients who have been charged with homicide, aggravated assault, robbery, and various drug charges. He represents municipal entities in defense litigation, as well as provides advice and counsel on behalf of multiple school districts. Kenyatta also renders legal advice to professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, and boxing industries, including reviewing and negotiating sports and entertainment contracts.
